Color inconsistency between samples and bulk goods is one of the most common issues in custom packaging. Color deviation may cause order rejection, rework and brand loss for overseas buyers.
Packaging color difference mainly comes from three sources: screen deviation, material deviation and batch deviation.
First, screen color difference.
Phone and computer displays have different color calibration. On-screen design colors cannot represent real printing results. Never confirm colors only by screen. Pantone color codes or physical samples are the only standard.
Second, material color difference.
Different paper bases affect final printing performance. Coated paper, special textured paper and dark base paper show totally different results even with the same ink. Paper texture and base tone directly change color presentation.
Third, batch production deviation.
Ink density, machine pressure and factory humidity will cause minor color difference in different batches. CMYK printing has reasonable color tolerance, while spot color printing provides the most stable and consistent color output for brand logos and standard colors.
How To Avoid Color Deviation
- Strict color requirement: choose spot color printing for brand standard colors;
- Confirm pre-production physical samples before bulk order;
- Follow Pantone color codes instead of screen display;
- Use unified machine, ink and paper for the whole order.
Our standard MOQ is 500pcs. We provide approved pre-production samples and strict color control to ensure consistent export packaging quality.
